Description
Transition House is dedicated to the solution of family homelessness in the Santa Barbara community. Families are offered life tools & respectful residential services designed to alleviate poverty and restore self-sufficiency & dignity.
Transition House’s three-stage program has a 70% success rate. Stage 1—Emergency Shelter (90 days) Stage 2—Fire House (6-9 moths) Stage 3—HOMES (low-income housing up to 2 yrs)
Families work with a case manager and are required to set short & long term goals, create a budget, & save money. Families learn money management skills, attend parenting courses and other Adult Education classes.
Transition House’s licensed infant care program is free to all its clients. Schoolchildren participate in evening arts enrichment and literacy programs.
