“Toy Rescue Mission’s purpose is to refurbish and recycle gently-used toys for disadvantaged children and seniors in care-facilities, while providing meaningful volunteer opportunities for the young-at-heart.”
Toy Rescue Mission has a strong history of helping our community --all with a 99% volunteer staff! We are deeply committed to those we serve! Toy Rescue Mission’s target populations are needy children, and seniors in nursing homes suffering from Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Many of these individuals are housed in battered women’s shelters, homeless family shelters, in treatment centers, and in care facilities. Often they no longer have personal possessions to call their own. They are traumatized by their situations and unfamiliar surroundings. The gift of one toy to cling to provides them with a measure of security and ownership in a world of chaos.
