Description
The Toy Industry Foundation's mission is to bring joy, comfort, and learning to children in need through the experience of toys and play. Play contributes significantly to the development of fine and gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and helps children learn about their physical world. Play develops observation, listening and language skills; critical thinking, communication and teamwork; and self-awareness and the ability to relate to others. What most of us take for granted, some children never experience. The Foundation aims to give all children the opportunity to play and be kids. We currently fulfill our mission through our signature program, The Toy Bank, as well as national partnerships and by providing grant funding for charities serving children in need.
