FUEL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR KITTERY RESIDENTS

KITTERY, MAINE - The Town of Kittery, in conjunction with area ministers and the Estes and Davis Oil companies, announce the formation of a safety net heating fuel oil program for Kittery citizens. The program is geared toward low-income families and those individuals who are eligible for fuel assistance and/or who find themselves in need of heating fuel and cannot afford it during the 2006-2007 winter season.

This group has created a fund called “Fuel and More” which will be used in conjunction with other town, State and Federal programs and will be administered through the town’s General Assistance program. The group has targeted $10,000 to be raised for this winter.
