Founded in 1983, the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation is the largest equine sanctuary in the world devoted to the rescue, retirement, rehabilitation and retraining of Thoroughbreds no longer able to compete on the racetrack. The TRF currently has over 950 horses in its herd at 26 locations around the country. At ten correctional facilities inmates build life skills while participating in a vocational training program as they provide supervised care to our retired horses. The TRF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax –exempt organization entirely dependent on contributions from those who believe racehorses deserve a dignified retirement when their racing careers are over. Thank you for supporting the TRF!
