Thompson Child & Family Focus was founded as an orphanage in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1886. Since then, Thompson has provided a continuum of care for children who are at-risk, abused, neglected or in need of mental health care. Today the agency embraces children all across North Carolina who are at risk for academic and social failure by providing intervention, prevention, safe and healthy environments, specialized education and intensive mental health treatment. Thompson positively affects 9,600 children and their families annually.
