Description
Although there are several rescues in California that deal with off-track Thoroughbreds, we have found few that deal specifically with Standardbreds off the track. We are hoping to fill a much needed niche! Many people do not know about the extremely versatile Standardbred.
Standardbreds can look very similar to their cousin the Thoroughbred, however are generally very calm and make excellent family horses for trail, pleasure, etc. They are also athletic enough to do well in sporthorse disciplines. One recent adopter labeled the Standardbred breed as the "labradors of the horse world" --- this is the best description we've heard of for
this wonderful breed!
