Description
Therapeion Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine assisted therapy to children who have been victims of abuse and neglect. We also offer a youth at risk program and have plans for a battered women's recovery program and a family inititive program in the future. Equine assisted therapy consists of ground work, classroom activities, and riding. These activities help our riders build self confidence, trust, and self-esteme while they have fun learning about and riding our specially trained therapy horses. While most of our riders come from local Child Protective Services programs, we also have riders who are in outpatient mental health programs.
