Description
Nuru Center is a nonprofit organization striving to make a difference in peoples lives, especially children, who are affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty in Kenya. The Nuru Center has several ongoing projects. The Kikapu Campaign provides a 'kikapu' (basket) of food to the poorest of the poor in rural Kenya. The Elimu Scholarship fund gives kids a chance at high school education and beyond, an opportunity that they'd otherwise not have. In 2009 Nuru was able to sponsor 4 scholarships for 4 very deserving children. In 2010 we hope to add 3 more children to our scholarship program. In addition, the Nuru Center's long term goal is to aquire land to build a self-sustaining orphanage for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
