Description
The Kitchen, Inc. is the largest social services provider in southwest Missouri. The organization began in 1983 as a soup kitchen, and has since grown into a multi-faceted non-profit organization providing a holistic approach to helping those trapped in the cycles of poverty and homelessness.
Programs of The Kitchen include emergency, transitional, and permanent housing, a free medical and dental clinic, a daycare for program participants, an education center, a drop-in center for homeless outreach, a drop-in center for at-risk youth, an affordable thrift store, and a food pantry.
