Description
The Association for Retarded Citizens, South Florida is a local chapter of The ARC, one of the largest volunteer organizations in the United States. Founded in 1953 by a group of concerned parents, ARC South Florida helps serve some of the 70,000 citizens of Miami-Dade County who have developmental disabilities.
Though still governed by volunteers through our Board of Directors, ARC South Florida has grown into a major community agency, providing a variety of programs and services that affect hundreds of participants every day.
The current mission of ARC South Florida is to ensure the rights of all persons with developmental disabilities through ongoing advocacy, and to provide specialized programs and services to help individuals lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. Our current programs include:
