Description
Teen Lifeline is a Peer Counseling Hotline which provides troubled youth the opportunity to access immediate help from a Peer Counselor seven days a week, 365 days a year. Teen Lifeline's services extend statewide in Arizona. It's hotline receives more than 6,000 calls a year from teens or those concerned about teens. That is why it is vital that Teen Lifeline recruit and train new peer counselors all the time, while sustaining its current group of teen volunteers.
More than 700 adolescents have received life skills training over the last 21 years as Peer Counselors in the program. In 2006, 25 teens were trained in life skills development, and a total of 52 active teen volunteers donated more than 7,000 hours of service to Teen Lifeline. Further, more than 30,000 individuals were reached through Teen Lifeline's community education programs in middle schools and high schools.
