Description
The mission of Team Activities for Special Kids (TASK) is to enrich and nurture the lives of children with special needs by providing opportunities for them to participate in sports, recreation and social activities. Our goal is to teach athletes the basics of the sport, teach skills and increase their overall self-esteem. We have a large group of volunteers that support and guide the athletes during activities, make-up our Board of Directors and serve on planning committees. Participants involved with our program have included individuals challenged by physical impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments, speech/language impairments, learning disabilities, mental disabilities, Down syndrome, behavior concerns, seizure disorders, attention deficit disorders and/or autism. TASK is a nonprofit organization, whose 501(c)(3) status is in good standing. We are an incorporated organization in Missouri and operate under the direction of a full Board of Directors.
