Description

Welcome to the Tanzanian Education Foundation (TEF). We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that was founded in Charleston, South Carolina, with a chapter located in Portland, Oregon. The primary goal of TEF is to make Meru View Nursery School an exemplary day school in Arusha, Tanzania. TEF wants Meru View open to all children who are interested in attending a school that will provide them with the best education, nutrition, and health programs. We plan on helping the children of Meru View continue their educational journey by providing them with scholarships.

TEF believes that there is a link between the extreme poverty and the inability to access education. Consequently, individuals find themselves limited in their capacity to engage in poverty alleviation strategies. Our mission is to remove these limitations by providing support to Meru View, giving scholarships, and working with the community with the hopes that every child who wants an education in Arusha will receive one!
