Description

SYREN Modern Dance was created with the mission to create, produce, and share dance with the public. The company was co-founded in 2002 by Artistic Directors, Kate Mehan and Lynn Peterson. Since 2003, SYREN has produced performances at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, University Settlement, City Center Studios, The John Ryan Theater/Whitewave, and at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The company has performed in the d.u.m.b.o. Arts Under the Bridge Festival, The Remember Project, LEAP! Festival, Choreographers' Workshop, Dog Days of Dance Festival, SWEAT Outdoors Series, Dansereye 3, CT Meets NY Dance Fest, and on the Inside/Out Series at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. The Artistic Directors of SYREN have served as Guest Faculty/ Commissioned Choreographers at The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, The Steffi Nossen School of Dance, Rye Neck High School, and the Greater Hartford Academy for the Arts.
