Description
The Syracuse Poster Project was founded in 2001 as a way of connecting local poets in the Syracuse, New York area with art students at Syracuse University. Local poets write haiku that pertains to the the city of Syracuse and the greater Syracuse area. Syracuse University art students then create large posters that are inspired by the haiku, and once finished, these pieces are displayed along streets in the downtown city of Syracuse. The Poster Project is a small, 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that coordinates and makes this project possible. We hope that this public art will instill a sense of pride in our local residents, and beautify Syracuse further.
