Description
Symphony Space has had an important cultural presence on the Upper West Side since 1978. Our mission is to make widely diverse, eclectic and artistically excellent performing arts programming accessible to audiences at affordable ticket prices, with selected events provided free to the community. Symphony Space’s programs, which include music, literature, dance, education, film and theatre, annually attract more than 120,000 attendees from throughout New York City to our two theatres. Our education programs include the Curriculum Arts Project, which brings the arts to public school classrooms and invites schoolchildren to attend Symphony Space performances designed with them in mind, and Selected Shorts: All Write!, a reading and writing program for adult literacy learners throughout New York City.
