Suwannee-Hamilton Technical Center was established in 1966-67. The Center is a public tax-supported school operated by the Suwannee County District School Board. Technical training and academic assistance programs are provided to over 1,100 students per year.
The Tech Center serves adults, high school students and dual enrollment students. Admission is open to adults who are at least 16 years old and not presently enrolled in a secondary school. Admission is also open to secondary students grades 9-12 as part of a regular secondary credit earning program. The Center also cooperates with private industry through continuing education programs and occupational advisory committees who are interested in the Center’s efforts to produce quality graduates.
Based on 2002-03 institutional outcomes, 73.22% of the adult students enrolled completed their training, and 91.67% of the graduates were placed in related occupations.
