Description
Every year 5,000 to 7,000 children die suddenly, without previous symptoms, from cardiac-related events. Currently, the only schools equipped with AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) devices in our area are high schools and junior high schools. The Stevens Point Junior Woman's Club is leading an effort to 4ensure that elementary schools are equally teprepared to save the lives of children and adults by placing an AED device in every public and private school in Portage County and by providing CPR training to school personnel. The START A HEART campaign has a lofty goal of $50,000 to make this a reality.
