Description
Stepping Stone Shelter, Inc is the only long-term residential agency in Seward County, Kansas. We focus on providing shelter, food and case-management to homeless individuals and families. In 2005 we housed 331 adults and 36 children with an average stay of 12 days. We served 15,678 meals, of which 2,334 were to individuals who simply needed a meal and not shelter. Our residents are ethnically diverse - 48.3% Caucasian, 42.3% Hispanic, 7.9% Black and 1.5% of other ethnicities. We are staffed by 1 full-time and 5 part-time staff. All eligible clients receive assistance with finding employment and in 2005, 70.5% did so. All clients also receive help with setting new homes as they leave.
