Welcome to State of the Heart!
For over 25 years, State of the Heart Hospice has provided care to patients in our communities. The agency is a non-profit one with a locally-based board made up of your friends, relatives, and neighbors. Hospice is a unique care, providing emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual care to both patient and family facing a life-limiting illness. The care focuses on maintaining value and dignity of human life by providing a choice of quality, compassionate care and support services. State of the Heart staff, made up of physicians, nurses, home health aides, social workers, grief specialists, chaplains and volunteers, work as a team to assure the patient remains in their home where they are most comfortable. Hospice care is paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies. No patient is ever denied care based on an inability to pay.
