Description
STF's mission is to provide a caring and nurturing environment for at-risk students to help them aspire to higher achievements. The mentoring program is designed to target disadvantaged/ troubled middle school students who likely, but not necessarily, have below average performance and who are in need of guidance, positive influences, positive role models and a positive outlet.
The Stacey Toran Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1998 to honor the memory and further the principles of former Broad Ripple, Notre Dame and Los Angeles Raider standout Stacey Toran.
Stacey may be best remembered by Indianapolis residents for the full-court, game winning shot against Marion that sent Broad Ripple High School to the 1980 state basketball championship game, which they won later that night. In August of 1989, Stacey lost his life in an automobile accident.
