Description
A congregation of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod serving Freedom Township and Washtenaw county. Located just outside of Ann Arbor, MI, and founded in 1842, it is the oldest congregation in the Michigan District. Worship services take place at 10 a.m. on Sundays, followed by a Bible study. Advent and Lent finds the community worshiping on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. The congregation meets in a building which has been designated a historical site, where one can find the walking stick of our founder, the first Lutheran missionary to Michigan, Rev. Friedrich Schmid, on display. To the south of the church is a historic cemetary.
