Description
"AVALA" is the name of our Serbian folklore group belonging to St. Stevan of Decani Serbian Orthodox Church in Chicago, IL. The folklore group has been a constant in the church from the beginning.
Our goal is to foster a love of Serbian culture and heritage for generations to come. Not only do the children learn to dance traditional dances, but they are exposed to a wonderfully supportive community of peers. Many of our dancers return to the group as proud parents, bringing their own children to learn traditional dances and form lifelong friendships and bonds within the Serbian community
