St. Louis ArtWorks endeavors to bridge economic, racial, and social divisions by providing youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid and meaningful employment in the arts. Our programs vitally engage teens in the creative process, teaching them the value of learning new skills, relating to others, and exchanging ideas. The products they produce are unique and speak of their vision of our communities. Most of the participating youth live at the poverty level or in unstable environments, reside in the St. Louis metropolitan area and are recruited through schools, community centers, arts teaching organizations, churches, and other youth agencies. ArtWorks helps these youth to explore their potential, learn job skills, and prepare for a productive future.
