Description
Our mission at Saint Dominic’s Home is to meet the needs of individuals and families of all backgrounds who are developmentally disabled, socially disadvantaged and, or, vocationally challenged. Today, we continue the legacy of the Blauvelt Dominican Sisters by caring for more than 2,000 children, adolescents, adults and families through our services and programs in the Bronx and the lower Hudson Valley, New York.
Saint Dominic's cares for children with special needs born into families shattered by violence, neglect and abandonment, and the devastating effects of poverty. Some of our children come to us with severe emotional disabilities. They are educated in our schools and some are sheltered in our foster boarding homes. Children and adults with a broad spectrum of developmental disabilities are served in our programs and residences. Adolescents at risk, adults with mental illness and preschoolers living in impoverished areas are welcomed.
