St Benedict Community Meal serves six nights a week. There are 75 sponsor groups from the surrounding area that prepare, transport, and serve the food. St. Ben’s provides meals and nourishment for up to 500 men, women, and children of all ages each night. St. Ben’s offers a primary care clinic and outreach program. The medical clinic has been serving the homeless of Milwaukee with primary care for 25 years and is hosted by Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Care. Social services are available for assistance with benefits, housing and counseling for chemical dependence. St. Ben’s also hosts a hygiene program every month, where individuals receive necessary items for use throughout one month. St. Ben’s programs affect human health and the welfare of the target population by improving nutrition, socialization skills, physical and mental health, and spirituality.
