This foundation was organized in response to the challenge to increase opportunities for young men to develop team work, self confidence, and self esteem through structured athletic activities.
The foundation also encourages our youth to stay in school by stressing the link between class work, studying, career and educational achievement.
We form teams and travel to basketball tournaments locally and in other states. For the past two years, one of our teams have been crowned champions in their division in the Addias Tournament in Orlando, FL. We teach our young men good conduct, good sportsmanship, how to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Our primary support comes from family, friends and the community. The parents/guardians have witnessed first hand the benefits of the program, and are our strongest supporters. We have operated on a shoe string budget and always welcome new supporters and organizations willing to help. We will gladly share letters of recommendation.
We are more than delighted that some of our players have made the NBA. They are Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics, Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns, just to name a few. There are others. One of our player made the NFL, Darren Sharper of the Minnesota Vikings.
Our foundation is more than just sports, we have a prison ministry, we have participated in seminars and we collect clothes for those in need.
