Description
SAEF is dedicated to an innovative therapy program designed to benefit individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s and other dementias through carefully supervised programs in “table tennis therapy.” A Japanese clinical study conducted by Dr. Teruaki Mori and Dr. Tomohiko Sato “The Effectiveness of Exercise Intervention on Brain Disease Patients: Utilizing Table Tennis as a Rehabilitation Program,” has demonstrated “table tennis” activates multiple portions of the brain simultaneously, producing an increased awareness and improved state of cognition in the participants. Players develop a heightened reflex function, improve their balance and communication skills, and display decreased dementia and depression. Daniel Amen, MD the author of “Making a Good Brain Great” states, “Table tennis is the world’s best brain sport.” Oprah’s favorite physician, Dr. Mehmet Oz, dedicated a prime segment of his television show on the benefits of ping-pong, describing it as his favorite ‘brain sport.’
