Description
The East Bay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded
to promote kindness and compassion toward animals in 1874. The East Bay SPCA is committed to the welfare of cats and dogs in the communities we serve. We strive
to eliminate animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation by providing programs
and education that support people and companion animals. We operate two
Adoption Centers, two Spay/Neuter Surgery Centers and a full-service Veterinary Clinic.
The East Bay SPCA serves Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and receives
no funding from the government or from any national humane organization.
We receive no tax dollars. We are supported by voluntary donations from people who care about animals and from the fees for the affordable services we provide.
