Description

SPARC provides social, recreation and therapeutic services for children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Community program sites, trips and local volunteers allow participants to develop a social network, improve community inclusion skills in their own neighborhoods, develop independence, basic living and leisure skills. Professional staff in recreation therapy, art and music therapy, special education and social work assist participants with communication, seizures, mobility needs, emotional and medical concerns. SPARC programs provide goal-oriented activities to help individuals with their personal challenges. Programs cater to ability levels whether it be youth with autism, young adults with learning disabilities, adults with profound mental retardation and up to 75 specialized groups. Activities include horseback riding, social clubs, art, music, dance, horticulture, trips, athletics, golf, film production, cooking, pet therapy and more.
