Sowing Seeds is a nonprofit network offering support & services, at no cost, to Marshfield, MA residents in need. An all-volunteer, ecumenical outreach ministry, it has answered calls for guidance, support & advocacy since '93.
Sowing Seeds services use volunteers' personal & professional talents; it also networks with organizations to meet needs of the people served. Some tangible needs are met by its Clothing Bank, which last year provided essential goods to 1,000+ people of all ages. Transportation Volunteers provide rides to doctors, appts. & vital destinations for the elderly & ill. A Furniture Coordinator redistributes beds, dressers & baby goods, to neighbors who would otherwise go without. The most important asset is the 100+ volunteers & generous supporters, including a 23-member Intake Team, which has responded to 6,500+ calls to help with food, shelter, utilities & services. 70+% of calls involve children; 100% are honored with dignity, confidentiality & respect.
