Description
Sowing Seeds for Life is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in 2005 whose mission is to eliminate hunger. SSFL is a part of America’s Second Harvest whose mission is “feeding America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engaging our country in the fight to end hunger.”
SSFL provides food to those who have been placed in difficult situations due to illness, accident, or misfortune and are in need of basic living essentials.
SSFL fosters relationships with other helpful organizations in the community so they can create a relationship encompassed in trust and help clients with other needs such as clothing, education, and housing.
Through the help of gracious donors from the community and beyond and with help from amazing volunteers, SSFL distributes food regularly on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 3 – 5 p.m. at 1350 Arrow Highway in La Verne, CA and from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 1134 Knights Hill Road in Sweden, ME.
