SEMCIL's mission is to assist persons with a disability to live independently and have equal access, opportunities and choices.
For the past 25 years, SEMCIL has provided services to thousands of individuals with disabilities of all ages through its independent living skills training services, peer mentoring, pre-employment and advocacy programs, home modification and ramps building programs and transition services for youth and young adults.
SEMCIL provides personal care assistant (PCA) and home making services through its PCA and PCA Choice Programs. PCA services include assistance with activities of daily living, transfers, range of motion activities and light housekeeping.
Architectural and attitudinal barriers are eliminated through SEMCIL's accessibility surveys and disability awareness programs.
SEMCIL's Disability Linkage Line services assist hundreds of callers a month with resources and referrals.
