South Coast Community Resource Center

A Mentor Program for at risk children ages 5-24. One-on-one school based or community based mentoring for Curry County. We currently have 70 active volunteers that have been screened, trained and had background checks. Currently we are funded for a part-time position by Curry County Commission on Children & Families, OR State Prevention Fund & U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment, which ends in September 2006. Our program has been certified for quality assurance by Oregon Mentors . To continue qualitly assurance and acquire more volunteer for our youth we need more funding for an additional full time position. The demand is there with the meth epidemic upon us. Thank you for your consideration. Teia Moore, Mentor Coordinator
