Description
A Mentor Program for at risk children ages 5-24. One-on-one school based or community based mentoring for Curry County. We currently have 70 active volunteers that have been screened, trained and had background checks. Currently we are funded for a part-time position by Curry County Commission on Children & Families, OR State Prevention Fund & U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment, which ends in September 2006. Our program has been certified for quality assurance by Oregon Mentors . To continue qualitly assurance and acquire more volunteer for our youth we need more funding for an additional full time position. The demand is there with the meth epidemic upon us.
