Description

SOS Outreach was founded in CO as a youth development non-profit devoted to inspiring positive lifestyles through a multi-year, adventure-based curriculum. Today SOS serves 5,190 youth at 42 mountain resorts in the United States and New Zealand. In 2009, SOS mergered with Meet the Wilderness, an organization that teaches similar skills through summer programs. The merger positioned SOS to provide year-round programming to 5,190 underserved youth. SOS offers progressive programs, with each year requiring more student involvement. Activities during these programs include snowboarding, skiing, hiking and rock climbing, etc. Program activities are coupled with community service, adult mentors and skill workshops to foster positive self-esteem, cultivate life skills and demonstrate to students the importance of giving back to the community.Additional information is available on our web site www.sosoutreach.org.
