Description
The Society for the Protection and Care of Children (SPCC), formerly the Rochester Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Inc. (RSPCC), is a private, not-for-profit organization with headquarters located at 148 S. Fitzhugh Street in the Corn Hill section of Rochester. SPCC was established in 1875 by a group of concerned citizens just six months after the founding of the first Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in New York City. Today, SPCC’s mission is “to cultivate a strong, healthy and thriving community by providing exceptional services to children and families.”
In 2006, the seven programs of SPCC impacted the lives of almost 8,000 child and their family members. Please consider joining SPCC and the network of hundreds of men and women who together are saying “NO” to child abuse and neglect, domestic violence and community violence.
