The preservation of Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark is a preservation of living history, and is a great symbol of pride and progress to the community of Birmingham, Alabama, and the great industrial past of the South.
Sloss Furnaces is the only 20th century blast furnace in the world. Other communities, as far away as France, have modeled their own preservation efforts after those that transformed Sloss Furnace into the growing cultural center it is today.
Sloss recieves more than 100,000 visitors yearly for tours, educational and metal arts programs. Sloss Furnaces Foundation is working to complete a capital campaign to build a new state-of-the-art visotor center and musem. YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED.
