Description
Josephine's Place is a storefront for women in an economically poor area in the city of Elizabeth, N.J.
Located in midtown Elizabeth, Josephine's Place serve the women of the greater area of Elizabeth. 98% of the women are spanish speaking. Activities and programs are designed in accordance with the needs that women have articulated. Therefore, english classes, health education, basic skills of living, support groups and celebrations are part of the environment of Josephine's Place. Yoga and tai chi chih are offered to assist the women in dealing with the every day stresses of life. There are twenty-three volunteers who facilitate the experiences. In addition women bring their children.
