Sister Island Project - SIP

Sister Island Project (SIP) works to foster diversity awareness, cultural exchange and sustainable development in the Dominican Republic. SIP leads regular service trips to an impoverished rural region of the Dominican Republic called Yabacao. Volunteers from the U.S. and elsewhere stay with local host families, experience Afro-Caribbean culture, and carry out a variety of service activities, including teaching English and arts, leading a children's camp, distributing donations, and assisting with construction of a learning center.
