Sierra Forever Families is a private, non-profit agency focused on finding and nurturing permanent families for children in foster care and providing one-on-one mentors while they wait.
Founded in 1983, today, the agency has placed more than 2,800 children in permanent loving families. Sierra believes that every child deserves a loving home.
At Sierra, there is no charge to adopt a child waiting in long-term foster care.
Sierra Forever Families is a California Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation governed by its Board of Directors. Sierra is licensed by the State of California and is a fully accredited member of the California Alliance for Child and Family Services.
Sierra is licensed to provide foster care and adoption services in twelve counties: Amador, Butte, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sierra, Solano, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba. These services are offered from our centers in Sacramento, Nevada City and Auburn.
