Description
A non-profit Sled Dog Resort and Mountain Lodge that will operate to earn fundraising dollars for Specialty Animal Rescue Groups.
Operated by Siberian Husky Assist Rescue, it will house a husky sanctuary, a northern breed sanctuary and a handicapped dog sanctuary. It will have a bunkhouse for groups to learn about pet care, rescue, dogsledding, and be able to have the groups enjoy the local outdoor mountain trails.
The facility will also have a Trading Post where rescues can sell their fundraising items. The established outdoor tourism town of Damascus Virginia does not have a hotel, and this facility will include a mountain lodge. Each "profit center" will earn money that will, after expenses, be distributed to specialty animal rescue groups by application process. It will be set up to be a perpetual animal rescue fundraising resort.
