The Shelby County No Kill Mission of Kentucky, Inc is a non profit group established in 2008 to help all treatable adoptable animals at the Shelby County Animal Shelter find their forever homes. We provided all emergency and medical care, a foster care program, all offsite adoption sites/events volunteers & transportation, microchips for all animals, as well as provided and staffed the onsite spay/neuter clinic. We assisted the Shelby County Animal Shelter in becoming the first No Kill municipal shelter in the state and helped maintain it for 6 years. In September 2014, we have changed our name as well as our broaden our mission. We are now Kentucky Pets Alive and we are now assisting shelters throughout the state of Kentucky who are actively pursuing or trying to save all adoptable animals. The same "services"/programs we have been providing for the Shelby County Animal Shelter will now be offered to other shelters.
