Services for Older Citizens (SOC) has been a champion in providing much needed services for seniors since 1978. Today, SOC is an in-demand non-profit organization that is recognized as the leading provider of services for seniors in the five Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods.

SOC’s five major programs including minor home repair, food and friendship, case coordination, meals on wheels and information and assistance help over 4,000 seniors a year. Our programs are able to touch the most vulnerable populations, including the frail and the homebound. Our social workers and information department educate seniors about where they can go for help, including referrals to mental health providers, workshops, support groups, etc. SOC also hosts educational lectures and health fairs and publishes resources and promotes these events in newsletters, flyers and newspapers.
