Description
The Service League exists to support and advance the mission of HCMC and benefit its patients, visitors, and staff. The Service League’s work includes: 1. addressing emergency needs of patients and families. We support a safe and sensible discharge or help patients with special / urgent needs. (Many patients are uninsured or underinsured with few or no resources as HCMC is a "safety net" hospital.) 2. providing volunteers to provide enhanced service to patients and support to staff of HCMC. 3. developing a “Healing Environment” to relieve stress and promote healing through visual and performing arts. 4. helping to enhance staff morale and esprit de corps.
5. promoting wellness, safety, prevention and community connections /partnerships. 6. Finally, the Service League helps to preserve the history of Hennepin County Medical Center and Medicine by sponsoring the GH/HCMC Museum and MMC Historical Library on campus.
