Description

The Senior Citizens Council of Rome is a not for profit corporation serving Rome and the greater Rome area, who feature events and activities geared toward the senior lifestyle. We offer a variety of ongoing programs that attempt to address the needs and goals of the senior community by reaching out to a vast cross section of the population. The Council operates the Ava Dorfman Senior Center, a community focal point where older adults come together for services and activities that reflect thier experience and skills, respond to their diverse needs and interests, enhance their dignity, support their independence and encourage their involvement in the center and the community. Our center serves as a resource for the entire community on aging, support for family caregvers, training professionals in new and innovative approaches to addressng aging issues. We also operate a Senior Day care Program for the frail elderly population.
