Description
For the past 41 years, The Senior Citizens Council has helped senior adults in the Augusta area to live stronger, healthier, and richer lives.
Our mission is "to provide a diversity of services to senior adults, and to enable them to apply their experience as a resource for meeting critical community needs."
In keeping with this mission statement, we provide the following services:
Advocacy Programs --- includes Casework / Counseling Services, SHINE (Seniors Health Information and Education) Program, MAP (a financial management service), Notary Services, CRRIS (Caregiver Resource, Referral, Information Service), and The Center for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation.
National Senior Service Corps (Senior Corps) --- includes the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), Senior Companion Program (SCP), and RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program)
