Private/non-profit agency. California state certified advocates for residents in nursing homes and residential care facilities; investigate complaints and abuse cases; resident rights advocates. Staff and volunteer visit facilities unannounced on a regular basis. Assist residents with concerns about the facility and their families; direct interaction with Department of Public Health and other regulatory agencies.
