Founded as the Seattle Fruit and Flower Mission in 1907, Seattle Milk Fund provides emergency family assistance; educational and childcare grants to full-time students; and school supplies and shoes to school-age children. Seattle Milk Fund is comprised of volunteer members belonging to one of 28 Circles to do fundraising and service projects. Additionally Circles often work with a specific client family on an ongoing basis. Each Circle sends representatives to a monthly governance meeting. Circles often form based on neighborhood, work or college affiliations and are often named for local notable women philanthropists.
