Description
Seattle International Children's Festival (SICF) is a celebration of world cultures through the performing arts – for children and other adventurous people. Launched in 1986, SICF remains the only international cultural event focused on young audiences in Washington State and one of only a handful in North America. An important part of SICF’s mission is to change perceptions of what constitutes children’s programming by recognizing the need for high quality arts and entertainment that respects the intelligence of the audience it serves. Each May SICF presents a broad range of performances by 15 to 20 artists and groups from every corner of the globe. SICF also works year-round with teachers and schools to enliven classrooms with world arts; providing free and low-cost tickets, curriculum resources, teacher trainings and model in-school programs that complement learning in many subjects and grade bands.
